June 6th: Ayers Rock
Uluru at sunrise We had hired a The climb car the evening before and hence were ready to drive out and see the sun rise over Uluru. Been there, done that! The following climb was harder than anticipated - especially because the sun was behind clouds and it was blowing a gale (later that day the climb was closed due to the strong wind) - ice cold we can tell you! But we made it to the top and got our obligatory picture taken like good Japanese people do.

Next stop Katatjuta We went back to the resort for a couple of hours Katatjuta - or - The Olgas before heading for Katatjuta. Meanwhile all the clouds had disappeared and the rest of the day was sunny, warm Valley of the Winds and beautiful which made the walk through the magnificent Valley of the winds very pleasant.

The last, but not least highlight of the day was the sunset over Uluru.
